in plant and township through effective management and coordination of all the securi
ty shift supervisors and shift personnels.
- To coordinate and monitor security deployment of LDAD, New Ash Dyke and Loading St
ation, Jhingurdah.
Job Context & Major Challenges
Renusagar Power Plant is a captive power plant of Hindalco Industries Ltd. Renukoot &was established in 1964. Since 1964, there have been 4 expansions, which resulted inincrease of unit from 2 to 10 units with total generating capacity to 741.7 MW. Thisincrease had direct impact on all infra structure facilities like increase in number of houses in the colony i.e. over 2000 residential quarters accommodating around 10,000 residents, density of Traffic in township, roads & other facilities. This has increased the responsibilities of security and town administration department many fold. The job contexts entails safe/harmonious living and working environment in the Plant and Township as well as ensure effective management and coordination of shift security comprising manpower of over 400 and annual budgetary allocation exceeding 30 Lacs.The main thrust is to provide a fully secure (from security point of view) & peacefulworking environment to employees & residents of Renupower Plant & Township by providing best possible security measures thereby achieving high internal and external customer satisfaction and continually innovate and upgrade them to reach highest bench marks in the industry.SecurityTo coordinate the working of all Shift Sergeants as Shift In Charge Security and effectively monitor/supervise daily deployment of over 200 security personnels in Plant and Township in an area of 25 sq kms.Monitoring security arrangements at Loading Station, Jhingurdah, located 20 Kms fromRenusagar, which is highly susceptible to regular intrusion/raids by miscreants.Monitoring the work and security deployment of over 70 guards by private security agency at transmission line, Morwa and Long Distance Ash Disposal line to new ash dyke covering an area of more than 20 sq kmsHandling disputes in plant/colony areas during shift and take corrective actions as smallest of such incidents has the potential of snowballing into major law and order problemTo carry out preliminary investigation in respect of all security related incidents in plant/township & initiate immediate remedial actions.To review and rationalize security manpower deployment on periodical basis.To ensure smooth vehicular movement in the township where on an average 1500 coal/ashdumpers ply through every day thereby ensuring effective Traffic Management

- Ensure up to date maintenance of security records at all gates and maintaining a d

- Ensure a high standard of vigilance and maintain a good intelligence network in th
e plant and township for obtaining advance information of any untoward activity
- Organize search operations at entry/exit gates of colony and plant area.
- Attend immediately to any disciplinary or labor related problem in plant and colon
y area.
- Coordinate security checks of various posts to ensure alertness of guards.
- Organize and plan round the clock patrolling in colony and plant premises.
- Carry out preliminary investigation in to all law and order related incidents and
recommend preventive measures.
