AEM Performance Engineer / AEM Modernization Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for an AEM Engineer with 5 6 years of experience to support a Performance & Modernization initiative for enterprise AEM 6.5 platforms. You ll focus on improving Core Web Vitals, page load performance, caching strategy, author/publish responsiveness, and modernizing the AEM implementation (refactoring legacy patterns, CI/CD hardening, observability, scalability, and cloud readiness). You ll partner closely with the authoring team, design, development and QA teams to deliver measurable performance gains.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5years to 6 years in AEM engineering with hands-on performance optimization experience.



• Strong experience with AEM 6.5 (Author/Publish, OSGi, Sling, JCR/Oak).


• Performance expertise across: Dispatcher configuration (cache rules, filters, farm


• Familiarity with CDN caching and invalidation patterns.


• Oak indexing / query optimization (Query Performance Tool, index definitions)


• Strong understanding of AEM component performance (HTL/Sightly, Sling Models, Clientless, resource resolution).


• Front-end performance optimization experience: JavaScript optimization (bundling, minification, code splitting, reducing third-party impact)


• Modern image formats (WebP/AVIF), lazy loading, minimizing render-blocking resources


• Strong web performance tooling knowledge


• Hands-on experience with performance tools such as Lighthouse, Webpage Test, Chrome DevTools, and load tools like JMeter / Gatling / Locust; plus, AEM profiling/log analysis.


• Strong communication skills: ability to translate findings into actionable engineering tasks.


• Experience with Adobe Managed Services (AMS) operations and tuning.


• In-depth knowledge of Edge Delivery Services / headless delivery patterns (if applicable).


• Accessibility and SEO best practices linked to performance improvements.


• Relevant Adobe/AEM certifications are a plus.
