As a Packaging Engineer in our team, you will be responsible for the packaging of various systems and sub-systems in the vehicle while considering clearances, tolerances, and regulatory aspects. You will estimate the center of gravity and weight distribution of the vehicle, analyzing the impact of adding systems on weight distribution. Your role will involve conceptualizing vehicle layouts based on available platform constraints and benchmarking competitor vehicle layouts and platforms to understand strategies. To excel in this role, you must have excellent knowledge of CAD software such as UG NX and other vehicle packaging software. Strong analytical skills along with proficiency in Advanced Excel and PowerPoint are essential. Previous experience in vehicle occupant packaging, system packaging, and platform design will be advantageous. You should possess a thorough understanding of automotive engineering guidelines and standards, such as SAE and AIS, and have the ability to comprehend engineering requests and deliver accordingly. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills are crucial for this position. Moreover, having driving experience is considered essential. Key technical skills required for this role include proficiency in UGNX, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and other related software.
