Job Designation: Safety officer Job Description: Develop and implement fire and safety policies, procedures, and programs. Conduct fire risk assessments and implement necessary fire prevention measures. Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of fire safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, alarms, hydrants, sprinkler systems). Carry out regular fire drills and emergency evacuation drills. Investigate fire incidents and safety violations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions. Conduct safety inspections and audits across departments and work sites. Train employees on fire safety protocols, first aid, and safe work practices. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory fire safety requirements. Monitor storage and handling of flammable materials and hazardous substances. Coordinate with local fire departments and emergency response teams. Maintain up-to-date records of fire safety inspections, permits, and certifications. Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Fire and Safety Engineering or related field. Certification in Fire Safety, Industrial Safety, NEBOSH/OSHA (preferred). Minimum [1] years of relevant experience in fire and safety roles. In-depth knowledge of fire safety codes, occupational health, and safety regulations. Experience with safety management systems and emergency response planning. Excellent communication and training skills. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
