Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and company policies. This role will support the Finance department with tasks including general ledger entries, reconciliations, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Record Management

    • Prepare and record financial transactions (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries).
    • Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate, timely entries.
  2. Reconciliation and Reporting

    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly account reconciliations.
    • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget variances and prepare variance analysis reports.
  4. Compliance and Audits

    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant tax regulations.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.
  5. Process Improvement

    • Identify areas for process improvement in the accounting workflow.
    • Implement best practices for financial reporting, internal controls, and efficiency.
  6. General Support

    • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Handle other finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

  • Education

    : Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience

    : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Skills

    :
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting standards.
