Position Description

The responsibilities are not limited to what is outlined in this document, and you are required to show ownership, accountability, passion, trust, integrity and greater engagement to bring value to the organization.

Major Tasks

  • Sales Revenues/Budgets: Meet & exceed sales targets and customer base with greater customer focus through focused sales activities. Increasing sales by actively selling to customers, consumers research institutes, Academia, laboratories , hospitals ,molecular pathology labs, forensic labs, agriculture institutes, veterinary customers, food testing labs , Pharma companies, Biopharma customers , Translational research customers, Applied testing customers and diagnostic and Life Science end users. Supporting other specialists and representatives and developing tactical plans to maximize revenues.
  • Sales Activities : To show leadership in front line selling which would differentiate QIAGEN offer, work flow solution that would create value for customers, QIAGEN, Team and Self. Follow all Sales activities with the highest focus, commitment and integrity.
  • QIAGEN is in Healthcare, Molecular Diagnostics and Life Science industries, and the needs of the customers are very critical and important.
  • The position will require daily visits to customers, intense travelling if required, handling customer queries, calls and resolving them to add value.
  • Since the customers can call anytime depending on their needs, which we can't prevent, we should be able to attend to these calls and handle the queries amicably.
  • Planning/Forecasting: To be accountable for the business planning, forecasting and achievement of objectives, achieving key performance indicators and revenue forecasts.
  • Business/Markets: Drive and initiate development of new business opportunities and references. Increase number of strategic partnerships. Organizing and coordinating in conducting workshops, seminars, medical education programs and exhibitions.
  • Customer focus : Maintain and develop relationships with key customers and references. Expand customer network and develop new relationships. Focus on customer first initiatives which would deliver value through QIAGEN solutions.
  • Information systems : Utilize SFDC for productivity to input customer data and provide information that will increase effectiveness of pre-call planning sales approach, data management, internal communication, customer information, quotation and offer management, call activity progress , time sheet management , opportunity mapping and management and help to monitor sales progress and successful close. This is a mandatory activity.
  • Communication : Organization of meetings/communication channels to ensure effective communication across business units.
  • Team work : Ensure team work, inter and intra personal skills which would support regional sales growth with all departments and functions within the organization.

  • Confidentiality : Maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to work and QIAGEN which would not compromise the Organizations position at any time.

Position Requirements

  • The position also requires that you coordinate with the team at any time as per work requirement to discuss matters, resolve issues, and implement solutions.
  • Experience in customer management, portfolio growth management, work flow optimization which would lead to increase in value and revenues for the organization and intense value driven approach to reach common objectives with the team.
  • Managing of territory through sales activities and developing delightful customers is essential.
  • Customer delights deliverables which would bring value to Customers, QIAGEN, Team and Self.
  • Portfolio management at all levels.
  • Customer handling experience in managing accounts at all levels with effective communication.

  • Willingness to travel for more than 70%.

Personal Requirements

  • Should have strong analytical, problem solving & customer management skills
  • Should be willing to learn and pick up information on one own initiative, self-motivated, quick learner and also willing to dissipate and share knowledge
  • Self-organized and motivated with the ability to work independently while under guidance from manager.
  • Excellent listening, presentation and communication skills at all business levels in both local language and English.
