Job Roles & Responsibilities of an Academic Counsellor -

An Academic Counsellor plays a vital role in shaping students' academic journeys and future careers. If you’re passionate about education and mentoring, here’s a glimpse into what this role entails:

Guiding Students: Offer expert advice on course selection, academic planning, and career pathways tailored to individual strengths and goals.

Student Support: Monitor academic progress, identify challenges, and provide motivational support to help students overcome hurdles.

Admissions Assistance: Help prospective students understand admission processes, program requirements, and assist them throughout their enrollment journey.

Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between students, faculty, and administrative departments to ensure smooth communication and timely resolution of academic concerns.

Workshops & Sessions: Organize and conduct orientation programs, career counselling workshops, and skill development sessions to empower students.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions, student performance, and prepare progress reports for academic teams.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on evolving educational programs, industry trends, and career opportunities to provide relevant and up-to-date guidance.

This role demands empathy, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to student success. Academic Counsellors don’t just advise—they inspire and enable the next generation of professionals!

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum Qualification: Any graduate or above
  • Skills Required:
  • Excellent written communication skills (English)
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Previous customer service experience, especially in a chat process, is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple chats effectively and efficiently
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications and CRM tools
  • Key Traits: Empathy, patience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
