Key Responsibilities: - Perform accurate coding for corporate accounts and post corporate checks. - Manage corporate accounts receivable and address any billing issues or discrepancies. - Respond to company inquiries regarding billing and account statements. - Post patient checks, handle NSF check returns, and initiate patient billing for returned checks. - Address patient billing inquiries, including lab and diagnostic billing issues. - Communicate with patients through the portal; escalate unresolved disputes to Medsien. - Process refunds for patients after appropriate internal approvals. - Complete coding for IE patients and submit documentation such as Annexure III and superbills. - Submit VACCN claims, manage referrals, and fax required documents. - Code and bill procedures like echocardiograms, Doppler studies, sleep studies, and ABI tests. - Correct and re-submit denied or rejected claims. - Review and validate lab/radiology invoices and ensure proper patient billing. - Maintain timely uploads of insurance refunds and EOBs into Athena. - Assist the billing team with escalated or complex patient billing issues. - Upload prescriptions to Athena Transact RX and support workers comp tracking. - Serve as backup for cosigning duties and assist with credit balance reconciliations. - Maintain and update Athena fee schedule with new codes as required. - Apply Multiplan discounts accurately on applicable claims. Qualifications: - Experience in medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle management. - Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar EHR systems preferred. - Strong communication and follow-up skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy. - Knowledge of insurance processes, including EFTs, EOBs, and claim submissions. - Proficiency in Excel and documentation tools. - Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach.
