About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Freelance DevOps Consultant to lead and support critical infrastructure and automation initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with our internal engineering and data teams to design, optimize, and maintain a scalable, secure cloud environment on AWS . You will be responsible for setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and IaC frameworks , with a focus on Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD, and Terraform . Additionally, you will help us optimize and troubleshoot our Airflow and Spark setups for data workflows. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can hit the ground running, bring best practices, and deliver results with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities: Audit, design, and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.) Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI , Jenkins , or AWS CodePipeline Implement and guide containerization and deployment using Docker , Kubernetes , and Argo CD Build and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform (or CloudFormation) Support and enhance Airflow and Spark configurations for ETL/data pipelines Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, etc.) Write automation scripts (Python, Bash) for common DevOps tasks Provide clear documentation and handover to internal teams Consult on cloud security best practices and DevSecOps workflows Requirements: 5+ years of DevOps experience, including recent freelance/consulting work Proven expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services Deep experience with Docker , Kubernetes , and deployment automation Strong knowledge of Terraform or equivalent IaC tools Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices Experience working with Airflow and Apache Spark in production environments Strong scripting ability in Python , Bash , or PowerShell Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines Excellent communication skills for client-facing documentation and meetings Nice to Have: AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer , Solutions Architect ) Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda) Experience advising or mentoring internal DevOps teams Prior exposure to cost optimization and cloud security assessments Knowledge of other platforms like Azure , GCP , or multi-cloud setups What We Offer: Flexible working hours (remote-first) Opportunity to lead impactful infrastructure projects Exposure to modern DevOps tooling and practices Competitive freelance/contract rates
