X ray technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality X-ray imaging procedures according to physician orders
• Prepare and position patients for imaging to ensure proper technique and safety
• Operate radiologic equipment and adjust settings to obtain clear images
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, cleaned, and functioning properly
• Follow radiation safety protocols and use protective gear when required
• Verify patient identity and review medical history before procedures
• Assist patients with limited mobility and provide compassionate care
• Maintain accurate patient records and upload images to PACS systems
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and medical staff
• Comply with HIPAA and hospital policies regarding confidentiality
• Perform additional diagnostic tasks if trained (e.g., fluoroscopy, portable X-rays)

Qualifications

• State license or certification as an X-Ray Technician / Radiologic Technologist (required)
• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
• ARRT certification (preferred or required depending on state)
• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical imaging setting (preferred)
• Knowledge of anatomy, imaging techniques, and radiation safety
• Basic computer and PACS software skills
