Job Title: X-Ray Technician
Department: Radiology / Diagnostic Imaging
Reports To: Radiologist / Department Supervisor / Medical Director

Position Summary:

The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, patient care, and adherence to safety and radiation protection protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized X-ray procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort
  • Position patients correctly and operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
  • Follow safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly
  • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage of images in the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
  • Assist in maintaining patient records and updating radiology logs
  • Adhere to infection control and hygiene standards in the imaging room
  • Assist physicians with fluoroscopy or other special procedures if required
  • Maintain inventory of imaging supplies and request replenishment as needed
  • Participate in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives in the department

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Radiologic Technology or Medical Imaging
  • Valid certification or license as an X-Ray Technician (as per local/state requirements)
  • 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital radiology setting preferred
  • Familiarity with digital radiography (DR/CR systems), PACS, and RIS software
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred

  • Strong technical skills in operating radiographic equipment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clinical teams
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Willingness to stay updated on new imaging techniques and technology

Working Conditions:

  • Clinical or hospital radiology department
  • May involve standing for long periods, lifting or positioning patients, and exposure to radiation (with protective measures)
  • Shift work, weekends, and on-call hours may be required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹9,330.70 - ₹24,375.34 per month
