What's The Role
As the Portfolio SME for Wells, Reservoir & Facilities Management (WRFM), you'll be the go-to expert for WRFM technologies, processes, data, and applications. Your deep domain knowledge will be key in advising on technical decisions, assuring delivery quality, and driving continuous improvement in asset production performance. You'll work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams as part of the Process Optimisation & Modelling (PO&M) IDT Business Interface team, helping shape strategies and solutions that align with Shell's goals and industry trends.You'll collaborate with Global Process Owners, Product Owners, and Portfolio Managers throughout the product or application lifecycle, providing insights and consulting support to design, deliver, and maintain high-performing solutions. Your understanding of WRFM practices like artificial lift, stimulation, and fracturing will help you identify opportunities, solve challenges, and deliver value to the business. You'll be trusted to influence roadmaps, guide development teams, and ensure that WRFM applications meet business needs and technical standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop the WRFM domain strategy and technology roadmaps in partnership with business stakeholders, IT, and suppliers.
- Build business plans, validate strategic value, and justify approval of funding for the projects to implement the strategy.
- Lead evaluations, selections, and introductions of new technologies to support WRFM operations.
- Oversee deployment and integration efforts to ensure technologies are embedded and delivering value.
- Deliver clear, actionable technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to promote products and project outcomes effectively.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for WRFM technologies and products within the business discipline.
- Conduct portfolio and market evaluations to keep the technology landscape current and competitive.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Discipline Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field
- 9 - 12 years of overall domain experience, with at least 7 years in Production Technology and Upstream Production
- Proven experience in product management across the full lifecycle from strategy to delivery
- Strong background in domain consulting and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, complex business environment
- Experience collaborating with facility operations teams, including console operators
- A track record of delivering impactful results within large, matrixed organizations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and energize complex technical concepts
- Comfortable working in diverse, virtual, and global teams
