We are seeking an Internal Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning the school’s voice internally and externally. This individual will be the key point of contact between the school’s internal stakeholders and the external communication agencies. This role involves creating compelling content, and managing the school’s social media presence to effectively communicate its mission, academic programs, field-action projects, events, and achievements. Key Responsibilities Liaison & Coordination Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of school updates, stories, and announcements. Finalise press releases, media advisories, and any external communication materials. Manage PR relationships and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget. Assist in developing and implementing the overall public relations strategy for the school. Internal Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with faculty, staff, and administrative teams to gather accurate and timely information. Identify and extract relevant stories, updates, and initiatives from various departments and functions across campus. Track academic, extracurricular, alumni, and institutional developments for communication purposes. Content & Media Coordination Develop and oversee communication materials such as newsletters, brochures, website updates, annual reports, and related internal communication documents. Conceptualize new content and plan the execution of content generation. Coordinate the collection of photographs, videos, and other multimedia content from the campus. Oversee scheduling and logistics for planned shoots, interviews, and content collection. Create content that is engaging and appealing to the target audience. Assist in curating, reviewing, and finalising content for the school’s social media platforms, ensuring alignment with the brand and values. Support in the development and maintenance of the school’s social media content calendar. Optimize content for search engines and social media. Assist in managing the school’s online presence on platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram for PR-related activities. Editorial & Press Relations Work to identify newsworthy developments suitable for press coverage. Support the drafting and review process of press releases and statements, ensuring they reflect the school’s ethos and tone. Write and edit press releases, media advisories, briefing documents, leadership quotes, op-eds, speeches, newsletters, FAQs and media kits. Ensure key updates are pitched to relevant media at appropriate times. Maintain and build strong media relationships across national and regional outlets (print, digital, and broadcast). Organise and manage press briefings and campus media visits. Pitch stories proactively to secure high-impact media coverage for key initiatives, programs, and personalities from the school. Write and edit content for various external and internal media, including blogs, websites, presentations, publications, and reports. Write persuasive copies for different communication materials including posters and flyers. Write compelling narratives for videos and impact stories. Support PR planning, media coordination and media coverage for school events, faculty achievements, research publications, and student success stories. Monitor media coverage and create periodic reports with insights and recommendations. Support crisis communication efforts, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging. Strategic Communication Planning Keep a pulse on emerging trends within the school and broader education sector to feed into proactive communication. Collaborate with leadership and the communications team to help shape narrative, tone, and messaging. Candidate Profile Must-Have Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach. A sense of storytelling and narrative building for education-focused content. Competent in coordinating visual and multimedia assets. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Management, or a related field with at least 5 years professional experience in public relations, internal communications, school communications, education-focused roles, or social media management. OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Management, or a related field with at least 2 years professional experience in the same fields. Experience working with or within educational institutions is highly desirable.
