Web3 Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy

  Solidity smart contracts

  for identity creation, verification, and lifecycle management.
• Build and maintain a

  private blockchain network

  optimized for security, speed, and restricted access.
• Develop

  Node.js-based APIs

  to integrate blockchain modules with front-end, mobile apps, and external government systems.
• Implement cryptographic techniques for

  secure data storage, hashing, authentication, and role-based access

  .
• Work closely with backend, frontend, and security teams to ensure end-to-end integration.
  
• Optimize blockchain transactions for

  performance, gas efficiency

  , and

  security

  .
• Perform rigorous smart contract

  audits, testing, and debugging

  .
• Document blockchain architecture, smart contract logic, and API flows.
  
• Contribute to architectural decisions and advise on best practices for blockchain-based identity systems.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 1+ years

  of experience in blockchain development.
• Strong expertise in:
  

• Solidity

• Private blockchain networks

• Node.js

  (Express.js / Nest.js)
• Experience building

  production-grade smart contracts

  with security best practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of

  wallets, cryptography, keccak hashing, digital signatures

  , etc.
• Experience integrating blockchain with

  REST APIs / MySql

  .
• Strong understanding of

  EVM architecture, gas optimization, and contract upgrades

  .
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with

  identity frameworks

  (DID, W3C Verifiable Credentials, SSI).
• Prior work on

  government, e-KYC, or public sector identity systems

  .
• Experience in

  DevOps for blockchain nodes

  .
• Knowledge of

  DRCs digital infrastructure or African digital identity ecosystems

  is a plus.
