Web Development Engineer - BI Applications

You will be working as a BI Application Engineer at Apple, where you will be dealing with massive internet-scale data and conducting in-depth quantitative analysis. Your main responsibility will be to distill data into actionable and intuitive visualizations to drive informed decision-making. Collaboration across different teams is crucial, and you will be involved in an agile approach to solving problems quickly. Your role will entail designing and building self-service tools, interfaces to interact with AI agents, and applications that provide insights related to customer experience, product performance, business operations, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with data analysts, frontend, and backend engineering teams to develop world-class tools and prototype applications for visualizing data and insights. **Responsibilities:** - Design and develop visualization low code frameworks, reusable components, and utilities. - Set up automated integration tests and develop tools and platforms to assist analysts and business users in making decisions through data and visualizations. - Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and create web interfaces for rich user experiences. - Define and integrate APIs with the backend team to build highly responsive data products. - Implement software designs using JavaScript and related technologies, prepare and execute unit and integration tests. - Envision functional and non-functional requirements to create solutions from scratch. - Build the front-end of applications with appealing visual design for the best user experience. - Use test-driven development to ensure responsiveness, consistency, and efficiency. - Build features and applications with a mobile-responsive design. - Learn and adapt new technologies for quick development of required POCs. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Self-starter with forward-thinking capability and a strong track record in execution. - Experience with TypeScript for enhanced code reliability in large-scale applications. - Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Babel, and Vite. - Strong proficiency in UI performance optimization techniques. - Background in micro-frontend architectures or modular front-end design patterns. - Familiarity with backend technologies like Node.js and RESTful APIs for front-end and back-end collaboration. - Experience in developing and contributing to design systems or reusable component libraries. **Minimum Qualifications:** - 3+ years of professional web applications development experience. - Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React or comparable modern frameworks. - Strong command of component patterns, hooks, context, and state management. - Testing discipline including unit/integration/E2E testing and adding tests to legacy code. - Knowledge of CSS architecture, responsive layouts, theming, and cross-browser compatibility. - Familiarity with modern build tools, linting/formatting, package hygiene, and CI for front-end pipelines. - API integration experience with REST/GraphQL, authentication flows, and error handling. - Hands-on experience optimizing performance metrics and improving Core Web Vitals.,
