Job Description

Billing Process Management

Generate detailed inpatient bills, ensuring accuracy by verifying charges for all services provided (e.g., room charges, medical procedures, consultations, medications, etc.).
Monitor daily billing for admitted patients and update bills in real-time to reflect ongoing charges.
Coordinate with various departments, including nursing, pharmacy, diagnostics, and the doctors office, to ensure all services are captured.

Patient Interaction and Support

Communicate billing information clearly to patients and/or their families, addressing questions, clarifying charges, and providing cost estimates.
Guide patients on payment methods, insurance claims, and assist with discharge processes, including the final settlement of bills.

Insurance Coordination

Liaise with the insurance department to ensure all insurance-related charges are documented and processed accurately.
Assist patients in understanding insurance claim processes and coverage limits.

Compliance and Documentation

Ensure all billing practices adhere to hospital policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
Maintain proper documentation and records for each inpatient billing case, ensuring secure storage of sensitive information.
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports for internal audits and financial analysis.

Revenue Cycle and Reporting

Support the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process by ensuring timely collection and payment follow-ups.
Report discrepancies or unusual billing patterns to the Billing Manager or Accounts Head.
