VMC PROGRAMMER

As a VMC Programmer, you will be responsible for studying and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to understand component geometry, tolerances, and machining requirements. You will check whether the part comes out from the machine within the cycle time and plan strategies to reduce cycle time. Your role will involve preparing VMC programs for Vertical Machining Centers using CAD/CAM software or manual G-code programming. Key Responsibilities: - Selecting appropriate cutting tools, holders, and fixtures based on job requirements and material type. - Setting up tooling and work offsets on the VMC machine for first-piece trial runs. - Simulating and verifying tool paths in CAM software to avoid collisions and ensure correct machining operations. - Optimizing cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut) for improved surface finish and reduced cycle time. - Inspecting first-off parts using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, etc. - Modifying and fine-tuning VMC programs based on dimensional corrections or operator feedback. - Coordinating with production and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow and product conformance. - Maintaining program backups and organizing them by job number or part code for future reference. - Assisting in operator training for new programs and machine operations. - Monitoring daily working to ensure efficiency and quality.
