VMC Machine Setter cum Operator (Tool Room Applications)

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced VMC Machine Setter cum Operator to join our tool room team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to perform precision machining, including fixture machining, press tool machining, and mould machining.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up VMC machines, including fixture alignment, tool selection, and setting tool offsets.
• Operate VMC machines to produce components as per technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform fixture machining, press tool machining, and mould machining with high accuracy.
• Inspect machined parts using measuring instruments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the cleanliness of the work area.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist in machine maintenance and report any technical issues promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in setting up and operating VMC machines, preferably for tool room applications.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Familiarity with machining processes for fixtures, press tools, and moulds.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for different materials.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
