Virtual Interview - Electronics Engineer

Role:

1. Design and development of automation projects, especially in the form of transforming

traditional manufacturing processes to Robotics in Heavy Manufacturing Industry.

2. Liaison with sub-vendors for Control Panel design & System Integration, Controller/ PLC

Programming/ Application Development conforming to internal standards for

industrial automation projects.

3. Commissioning, training, preparation of operational and maintenance manual for hand-over.

Mandatory Skills:

1. Types of industrial processes and their control mechanisms.

2. EPD: Electrical (LT) Panel Designing & Industrial Panel wiring.

3. Electrical drafting using CAD software.

4. Controller/ PLC selection, installation, and wiring.

5. Knowledge of various sensors available in market Profile, Positional, Flow, Temperature,

Pressure, Level etc

6. Selection and interfacing of actuators like relays, contactors, solenoid, servo motors/

stepper motors suiting to the application.

7. Fundamentals of AC variable frequency drives, parameter settings, open loop and close loop

controls.

8. Selection, installation, wiring, and parameter setting of AC servo drives.

9. Industrial safety and related devices: Human as well as Machine safety devices.

10. Thorough hands-on experience on PLC programming especially in the following areas:

Basic instructions | Data handling | Analog signal processing | Interrupts| HSC | PTO |

PID Instructions | Interfacing using IO lines | Debugging techniques.

[Know how of Mitsubishi with GX Works would be preferred]

11. Know-how on creating new HMI program, tag generation, UI development, HMI

communication and protocols.

12. Possess know-how of relevant National and International standards.

13. Basics of SCADA, creating new SCADA applications, tag generation, UI development, SCADA

communication and protocols.

14. Ability to Troubleshoot problem in challenging shop-floor environment.

15. Good communication and interpersonal & leadership skills, Innovative mindset, time

management and project planning / execution skills and basics of estimation and costing

Preferable Skills:

1. Know-how of Machine Vision sensors

2. Prior experience of handling/ commissioning Robotics in manufacturing

3. Knowledge of different types of welding and other fabrication processes

4. Knowledge of high-level programming like Python, VB, C# etc.

5. Basics of communication protocols – Modbus (RS-485, TCP/IP) and MQTT

6. Basics of data science, digitalization, and digital transformation.

7. Design of hydraulic & pneumatic control systems.
