Job Title: Business Development Manager Bulk Drug (API) Department: Business Development Industry: Pharmaceuticals Bulk Drugs / Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) Location: Madhapur, Hyderabad Job Purpose: To identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities for bulk drugs (APIs), ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards. This role involves market research, client relationship management, technical understanding of product specifications, and coordination with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Market Research: Identify and develop new domestic and international markets for APIs. Analyze market trends, demand forecasts, and customer needs. Gather intelligence on competitor products, pricing, and specifications. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (formulation companies, distributors, CMOs). Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams (R&D, production, QA/QC). Ensure understanding of client requirements and communicate product specifications clearly. Product & Technical Specification Handling: Review and understand client specifications for bulk drugs. Coordinate with QC/QA departments to ensure product specifications align with customer requirements. Provide technical support and documentation during client audits or inquiries. Sales & Commercial Activities: Generate RFQs, negotiate pricing, and close contracts. Manage and maintain sales pipelines and monthly/quarterly targets. Coordinate sample dispatches, commercial supplies, and logistics with operations. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure timely preparation and submission of dossiers, CoAs, MSDS, and regulatory filings as needed. Work with RA team to support regulatory submissions (e.g., DMFs, CEPs). Track documentation status and client approvals. Internal Coordination: Coordinate with production, quality, logistics, and finance departments to meet client expectations. Monitor inventory, production timelines, and dispatch schedules. Key Skills: In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical APIs and specifications Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Technical understanding of pharmacopeial standards (USP, EP, IP, etc.) Market analysis and strategic planning abilities Familiarity with regulatory requirements and documentation Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite Qualifications: Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc / MBA in Pharma or Marketing Experience: 8-10 years in pharmaceutical B2B sales, preferably in APIs or bulk drugs KPIs (Key Performance Indicators): Revenue generation and sales target achievement New customer acquisition Customer satisfaction and retention Timely response to client RFQs and technical queries Success in documentation and regulatory support
