As a part of your responsibilities, you will troubleshoot complex video issues related to encoding, streaming, recording, and playback across various devices and platforms. You will also provide technical support and training on video technologies and best practices. Driving innovation to build resilient and scalable media pipelines will be a key aspect of your role. Moreover, you will be expected to cultivate a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and operational rigor within the team. To excel in this position, you should have at least 8 years of engineering management experience leading infrastructure/platform teams. Your expertise should include designing cloud-native distributed systems at scale, such as microservices and serverless architectures. A deep understanding of video technology is essential, including codecs like HEVC and AV1, streaming protocols like HLS and CMAF, and proficiency in open-source tools like FFmpeg and GStreamer. Furthermore, you should have experience in designing and developing video media solutions using video processing tools and frameworks like FFmpeg and GStreamer. This includes configuring video encoders and conducting standard quality assessments such as PSNR, SSIM, and VMAF. Your ability to collaborate effectively with product teams to deliver user-centric infrastructure solutions will be crucial.
