Video Editor- Job Description

The Video Editor is responsible for transforming raw footage into polished, high-quality video content that aligns with brand guidelines, creative direction, and project goals. This role involves collaborating with creative teams, managing multiple projects, and ensuring timely, accurate delivery of engaging visual stories.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble raw video footage into compelling final products, including short-form and long-form content.
• Add motion graphics, titles, subtitles, transitions, and visual effects as needed.
• Select and integrate audio, including music, sound effects, and dialogue enhancement.
• Optimize content for various platforms (YouTube, social media, websites, broadcast, etc.).
• Collaborate with directors, producers, designers, and marketing teams to interpret project briefs and maintain brand consistency.
• Review and revise edits based on team or client feedback.
• Ensure proper file management, including organizing, backing up, and archiving video assets.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of editing software, trends, and best practices.
• Color grade and correct footage to achieve a consistent visual style.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Video Editor or similar role.
• Proficiency in one or more editing software tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
• Experience with motion graphics (After Effects or similar tools) is preferred.
• Good grasp of audio editing and sound design.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of different aspect ratios, codecs, formats, and export settings.
