Job Summary: The Vice Principal for the Junior School is a leadership role responsible for supporting the Principal in the overall administration and management of the junior school section. The individual in this position will collaborate with the Principal, teachers, and staff to create a positive learning environment, ensure effective curriculum implementation, and foster a culture of academic excellence, student welfare, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities: 1. Academic Leadership: - Assist the Principal in developing and implementing the curriculum for the junior school. - Supervise and support teachers in lesson planning, instructional strategies, and assessment methods. - Monitor and evaluate the academic performance of students, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. 2. Student Welfare: - Oversee the well-being of students, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment. - Collaborate with the school counselor and other support staff to address the social and emotional needs of students. - Implement and enforce school policies related to student behavior and conduct. 3. Staff Management: - Assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of teaching and non-teaching staff for the junior school. - Conduct regular staff meetings to facilitate communication and collaboration among the junior school faculty. - Provide professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge. 4. Parent and Community Engagement: - Foster positive relationships with parents through regular communication, meetings, and events. - Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and address concerns. - Collaborate with local community organizations and stakeholders to enhance the school's reputation and community involvement. 5. Administrative Duties: - Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the junior school, including scheduling, resource allocation, and facilities management. - Handle disciplinary matters in consultation with the Principal and maintain accurate records. 6. Professional Development: - Stay informed about educational trends, research, and best practices in junior school education. - Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance leadership skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Requirements: - Master's degree in Education or a related field. - Teaching certification and relevant educational leadership experience. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated leadership abilities and a collaborative management style. - Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices. - Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the curriculum.
