Vice President, Technology

As the Vice President of Technology at 39k Group, India's largest crypto trading firm, you will play a crucial role in leading engineering and architecture initiatives across the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include designing systems, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring the performance and reliability of our entire tech stack. You will be tasked with owning system architecture across trading, data, and platform teams, making design decisions with long-term scalability and performance in mind. Leading a diverse team of engineers working with technologies such as Rust, C++, Python, Node.js, and React will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will review and guide the implementation of trading systems, market data pipelines, and distributed services. Building and fostering a high-performance engineering culture will be essential, with a focus on clear accountability, fast iteration, and strong code quality. Collaboration with quant and trading leads to translate market needs into resilient and scalable systems is also a critical component of this role. You will oversee infrastructure and operations strategy, including deployments, observability, system reliability, and runtime performance. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 10 years of experience in building complex systems, preferably in a trading, high-frequency trading (HFT), or infrastructure-heavy environment. Deep expertise in distributed systems, performance optimization, and system design is required. Hands-on experience across multiple layers of the technology stack, including networking, messaging, compute, and UI, is essential. Prior leadership experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams with a focus on full delivery ownership is highly valued. A proactive approach, product-oriented mindset, and a commitment to maintaining high technical standards are key qualities we are looking for in potential candidates.
