Vice President Engineering Lead

Role Overview: You will be the Vice President Engineering Lead at DWS, playing a crucial role in managing and performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include planning and developing entire engineering solutions, ensuring reliability and resiliency, maintaining and reusing engineering solutions, and participating in industry forums to drive innovative technologies. Additionally, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining UI components using React.js and JavaScript, defining and enforcing best practices for UI development, and collaborating with UI/UX designers and backend developers to deliver seamless interfaces. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and develop entire engineering solutions to achieve business goals - Build reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing - Ensure maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions - Review engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability - Architect, develop, and maintain UI components using React.js and JavaScript - Define and enforce best practices for UI development, coding standards, and performance optimization - Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend developers for seamless interfaces - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code - Drive code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing processes - Contribute to architecture and design decisions for scalable frontend systems Qualification Required: - Overall experience of 10+ years with hands-on coding in Java & frontend development - Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, node.js, and React.js - Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, and responsive design - Prior experience working in an Agile/scrum environment - Proficient in any UI framework/library (REACT/ANGULAR/VUE/NEXT) - Well-versed with commonly used Data Structures and Algorithms - Understanding of REST based Architecture and concepts - Understanding of Design Patterns and Principles - Understanding of cross-browser, mobile-first development - Unit Testing - writing unit/e2e tests - Exposure to cloud platforms is a plus (preferably GCP) - Strong problem-solving and communication skills - Working knowledge of GIT, Jenkins, CICD, Gradle, DevOps, and SRE techniques - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant technology & science - Technology certifications from any industry-leading cloud providers Company Details: DWS is an industry-leading firm with a global presence, offering ambitious opportunities to shape the future of investing.
