Job Description

The VFX Supervisor plays a crucial role in determining the technical approach and providing leadership to achieve the desired look and effects for a given project. Acting as a creative liaison between the facility and the client, you will collaborate in the creation and/or enhancement of the Director's vision for the production. It is essential to translate this vision into art/technical direction, guiding the development of creative responses to feedback. You will be responsible for estimating and establishing resource requirements, budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the production. As the VFX Supervisor, you will oversee the overall technical approach and provide technical leadership for visual effects during production, pre-and post-production phases. Ensuring on-time, on-budget execution, and delivery, as well as maintaining the quality of all effects work for the project, will be a key accountability. Monitoring project progress, directing staff, participating in plate shoots, and supervising several digital effects disciplines are also part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will review, critique, adjust, and approve work created before the Director's review. Conducting performance reviews, providing regular feedback to senior direct reports, and participating in the development of company-wide standards to resolve or avoid issues are essential aspects of the role. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of six years of experience leading live-action visual effects on feature films and/or TV shows. Experience in the Korean film industry is highly desirable. Proficiency in leading and mentoring large teams and projects, along with strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and respect for aesthetics are required. A broad knowledge of technologies, including 2D and 3D software, is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a well-rounded working knowledge of technical and artistic aspects of live-action and visual effects are also crucial. Scanline VFX is an award-winning leader in the visual effects industry with studios worldwide, including London, Los Angeles, Montreal, Seoul, Mumbai, and Vancouver. The company is committed to maintaining the highest standard of quality and innovation. Eyeline Studios, the virtual production division, is revolutionizing real-time filmmaking, offering content creators unmatched flexibility. With Netflix's investment in their pipeline, infrastructure, and workforce, Scanline VFX continues to push the boundaries of visual effects possibilities. Scanline VFX values individuals who are explorers, willing to venture into new territories, test ideas, and learn through iteration. The company encourages team members to ask questions and contribute their ideas, believing that great ideas can come from anyone. When applying for a role at Scanline VFX, candidates can expect fair and equal consideration based solely on their qualifications.,
