VFX Lighting (Katana)

As a Lighting Artist at FutureWorks, you will be responsible for illuminating all VFX assets, characters, and environments for live action visual effects and animated projects. Your main role will involve working closely with VFX Supervisors/Leads and TDs to determine the best approaches to solve technical challenges and develop the final look of high-end photo-realistic VFX films. Additionally, you will collaborate with compositors to seamlessly integrate computer-generated elements with live-action plates. **Responsibilities:** - Illuminate all VFX assets, characters, and environments for live action visual effects and animated projects. - Execute the desired photorealistic look of complicated CG models, including complex creatures and/or hard surface models. - Enhance the depth, tone, atmosphere, and mood of a scene using light. - Work to the director's vision and create different styles of lighting to convey extraordinary effects. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 8+ years of live action lighting experience. - Proficiency in Kanata skills is a mandatory requirement. - Clear understanding of color space, image-based lighting, shading, and advanced rendering methodologies. - Good knowledge of Nuke or similar compositing package. - Extensive knowledge of either Renderman, Arnold, or similar production renderer. - Basic knowledge of physically plausible shading techniques. - Strong understanding of V-Ray, Arnold, Redshift, Renderman, Zbrush, Katana, and Unreal Engine. **Desirable Skills:** - Immediate joiner, based in Mumbai. - Proficiency in Katana. - Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Creative problem-solving and attention to detail. - Familiarity with film production & computer graphics. - Good working knowledge of art, design, and film lighting. - Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information.
