Urgent vacancy of NICU Staff Nurse

Roles & Responsibilities:-

• Operate equipment such as ECG, external defibrillators and bag-valve mask resuscitators in advanced life-support environments.
• Perform Neonatal admission assessment.
• Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
• Maintain medical equipment, and replenish first-aid equipment and supplies.
• Observe, record, and report to physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment.
• Administer life-support care to sick neonates.

Making diagnosis and giving treatment to patients who are seriously ill or have life-threatening conditions.

• Assess vital signs including pain.
• Administer drugs, orally or by injection, and perform intravenous procedures under a physician's direction.
• Coordinate work with other medical team members when required.
• To maintain strict aseptic technique during the surgical procedures.
• To participate all the unit and in-service education.
• To adhere to the critical care policies and protocols.
• To ensure proper documentation.

Checking the efficiency of equipments to maintain a state of operational readiness;

• Adhere to infection control protocols.
• Administer drugs, orally or by injection, and perform intravenous procedures under a physician's direction.
• Coordinate work with other medical team members.
• Communicate with other members in the Health Care team in case of transfer or referral.
• Proper Documentation and Family Education.
• Participation in In-service Education.
• Implementation of operations esp. as per the approved standards under supervision of the Consultant NICU / Head - Nursing.
• Ensures and guides optimum utilization of physical facilities, qualitative and economic use of general / clinical supplies.
• Infection control, Health care waste management, awareness of patients rights & safety issues, relationship building.
• Checking of Inventory in the concerned area.
• Participates in Hospital Quality Improvement Programme.
