Urgent Opening For Fashion Design Lecturer

Role & responsibilities

To deliver high-quality teaching and academic support to students in the Fashion Design program. The lecturer will also contribute to curriculum development, industry collaboration, student mentorship, and academic research in the field of fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning:

• Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and studio-based sessions across undergraduate/postgraduate Fashion Design programs.
  
• Design and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools in alignment with curriculum objectives.
  
• Guide students in developing design concepts, portfolios, and final collections.
  
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  

Curriculum & Assessment:

• Participate in curriculum development and review to ensure relevance to current industry trends.
  
• Conduct internal assessments, juries, and contribute to external examination processes.
  
• Ensure academic quality standards are maintained.
  

Industry & Research Engagement:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fashion trends, techniques, and technologies.
  
• Foster relationships with industry professionals for guest lectures, internships, and project collaborations.
  
• Engage in academic research, exhibitions, or consultancy in the field of fashion design.
  

Mentorship & Guidance:

• Mentor students on academic, professional, and creative development.
  
• Support students during fashion shows, exhibitions, and competitions.
  

Administration:

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other academic activities.
  
• Participate in departmental meetings, reviews, and accreditation processes.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of fashion design, textiles, pattern making, garment construction, CAD, and portfolio development.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to inspire and engage students.
  
• Proficiency in design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CLO 3D (preferred).
  
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to dynamic academic environments.
