Urban Design Intern

Urbanet.in is seeking a talented and motivated Urban Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will report directly to the Lead Architect and Urban Designer, contributing to innovative urban design projects across Kerala and Odisha. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Lead Architect and Urban Designer on conceptualizing and developing urban design plans for projects in Kerala and Odisha.
• Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and prepare design proposals, including master plans, zoning layouts, and landscape integrations.
• Utilize design software to create 2D/3D models, renderings, and presentations for client reviews and approvals.
• Participate in stakeholder consultations, incorporating feedback from local communities, government bodies, and environmental experts.
• Ensure designs comply with regional urban planning regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices.
• Assist in project documentation, reporting, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and planners.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in urban design, such as smart cities, green infrastructure, and resilient development.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in urban design or planning projects (fresh graduates with strong portfolios are welcome to apply).
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, or GIS software.
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, sustainability, and Indian regulatory frameworks (e.g., Master Plans, Building Bye-Laws).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites in Kerala and Odisha as required.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovative urban solutions.
