About the Role

Key Responsibilities

User Experience & Research

• Conduct user research for student, faculty, registrar, finance, and housing personas.
• Develop user journey maps for critical flows such as admissions, course registration, housing assignments, and approval/rejection workflows.
• Translate requirements into wireframes, low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.

UI Design

• Design modern, responsive, and accessible UI screens for various UMS modules.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive design system and reusable component library.
• Ensure consistent visual language across modules: Admissions, SIS, Housing, Finance, ERP integrations, and Equipment Management.

Front-End Development

• Convert UI/UX designs into production-ready components using React, Angular, or Vue.
• Build dashboards and UI components that integrate real-time student data, finance metrics, course schedules, and workflow data.
• Optimize interfaces for performance, scalability, and WCAG-compliant accessibility.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with backend engineers, data engineers, and product managers.
• Collect UI requirements from leadership and administrative departments.
• Participate in agile sprints, design reviews, and usability testing cycles to continuously improve product experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, UI Engineer, or Front-End Developer.
• Strong proficiency with design tools such as

  Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD

  , or similar.
• Front-end development experience using

  React.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, TailwindCSS, Material UI, or Chakra UI

  .
• Strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design, accessibility standards, and design systems.
• Experience creating dashboards, workflow systems, or data-heavy user interfaces.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and version control tools such as Git.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with university/education platforms, ERP portals, or administrative systems.
• Knowledge of data visualization libraries such as

  Recharts, D3.js, or ECharts

• Experience with SSO workflows, role-based UI, and workflow automation tools.
• Understanding of state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, etc.).
• A strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design projects and front-end applications.
