Purpose of the Position The purpose of a Treasury Manager in a family office is to ensure the long-term financial health, liquidity, and strategic allocation of wealth for the family and its related entities. Unlike a corporate treasury role, this position blends technical financial expertise with a deep understanding of personal wealth management, discretion, and legacy planning. Role & responsibilities The Treasury Manager will oversee the end-to-end treasury and investment operations of a large-cap portfolio within a private family office. This includes managing liquidity, optimizing asset allocation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preserving intergenerational wealth through disciplined financial strategies. Portfolio Oversight: Manage and monitor a diversified portfolio of large-cap equities, fixed income, and alternative investments in line with the familys financial goals and risk appetite. Cash & Liquidity Management: Ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs, capital calls, and lifestyle requirements while maximizing returns on idle funds. Investment Strategy Support: Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to evaluate new investment opportunities and rebalance the portfolio as needed. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market volatility, currency exposure, and concentration risks. Reporting & Analysis: Deliver consolidated performance reports, scenario analyses, and investment dashboards for family stakeholders. Banking & Custodian Relations: Maintain strong relationships with banks, custodians, and investment platforms to ensure efficient execution and safekeeping of assets. Governance & Compliance: Uphold investment policy statements, ensure regulatory compliance, and support estate and succession planning efforts. Confidentiality & Discretion: Handle all financial matters with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism. Deliverables. Liquidity & Cash Flow Management: Maintains optimal liquidity to meet lifestyle needs, capital calls, and investment opportunities. Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and monitor inflows/outflows across entities. Investment Oversight & Reporting: Track performance of large-cap and diversified portfolios. Deliver consolidated investment reports, dashboards, and scenario analyses for family stakeholders. Support rebalancing decisions and due diligence on new opportunities. Risk & Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks (e.g., market, currency, interest rate). Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory frameworks, and internal investment policies. Banking & Custodian Relationships: Manage relationships with banks, custodians, and investment platforms. Negotiate terms, streamline account structures, and ensure safekeeping of assets. Governance & Confidentiality: Uphold investment policy statements and support estate/succession planning. Maintain strict confidentiality and act as a trusted financial steward. Technology & Process Optimization: Implement or enhance treasury systems for automation, reporting, and cybersecurity. Digitize workflows to reduce operational risk and improve decision-making speed. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a single point of contact for financial matters across family members, advisors, and service providers.
