Transport Planner

As an experienced Transport Planner/Modeller joining our established Highways & Drainage team, you will have the opportunity to serve the UK private development and public sector markets. The UK Development transport team offers a wide range of multi-disciplinary services including transport modelling of local junctions, signalised networks, pedestrians, and regional/strategic transport systems. Your role will involve development planning work such as site appraisals, transport assessments, master planning, public transport studies, and public consultation. Key Responsibilities: - Work face to face with project teams as required - Knowledge of preliminary highway design, junction design and analysis, traffic software (e.g., TRICS, ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT, VISSIM, Paramics), and fundamental modelling techniques - Proficient in AutoCAD for preliminary junction design drawings and figures for reports - Good written and spoken communication skills in English - Training of staff on microsimulation modelling using VISSIM/Paramics - Quality checks of data and model outputs - Research and review design options for technical and economic impact - Management and oversight of tasks completion - Take ownership of tasks and seek solutions as needed - Key point of contact for different UK offices for modelling and Transport Planning tasks - Core member of the Modelling/Transport Planning team with focus on detail and quality - Dedication towards working independently or with minimal guidance - Ensure Health & Safety practices are embedded in work - Clear communication with colleagues in India and the UK - Support in writing technical reports and notes - Work within project constraints and attend project meetings - Complete timesheets accurately and on time Qualifications: - Mtech in Transportation Engineering - Understanding of Transport Planning and general principles - Report Writing, Coding (Python), PowerBi Please note that employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (BGV) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
