Transmission Line Designer (T&D)

As a Transmission Designer at Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) T&D Transmission Engineering Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the T&D Transmission Line Engineering and Design Team at the Mumbai Office. Your responsibilities will include transmission line drafting and design work, CADD design, material list preparation, and other tasks for projects of varying complexity. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare engineering drawings such as Plan & Profile, permitting, assembly, and structure framing/loading drawings to support engineers. - Create both rough sketches and detailed work using CADD systems. - Incorporate client markups as per requirements. - Collaborate with engineers, incorporate gained knowledge into drawings, and work independently on complex projects with some engineering guidance. - Ensure final designs comply with regulations and identify potential design/drafting issues for the team. - Participate in technical meetings with clients and take ownership responsibility for assigned work. Qualifications: - Diploma in Civil/Electrical with 1-10 years of experience OR ITI in Civil/Electrical with 3-10 years of experience as a CADD designer. - Minimum 3 years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite and drafting AutoCAD. - Proficiency in the English language with strong verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of overhead transmission line construction methods preferred. - Experience with CADD tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation, Google Earth, Revit, Civil3D. - Understanding of survey, easements, right-of-way, and permitting processes. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work effectively. - Willingness to adapt to different roles for various clients locally and globally. - Commitment to actively participate in the employee-owned culture at Burns & McDonnell.
