Transition Investing (Sustainability) Thematic Research

As a candidate for the role supporting the European ESG team, you will be responsible for various tasks related to fund ownership evaluation, data quality checks, database maintenance, back-tests of ESG strategies, research report writing, and analysis of macro-level ESG trends. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Developing and maintaining excel models to evaluate fund ownership for Global companies, sectors, and regions. - Performing stringent data quality checks on third party ESG data using financial databases and company filings to ensure robustness of data for modeling purposes. - Creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive Excel databases on ESG data. - Assisting the team in running back-tests of ESG related strategies and applying quantitative techniques to analyze historical and future trends. - Contributing to research report writing and summarizing peer research on thematic topics related to investment strategy for ESG investors. - Assisting the onshore team on a day-to-day basis and working on ad-hoc requests. - Analyzing macro-level ESG trends to write thematic reports. Preferred candidates for this role are pro-active individuals with experience in top-down macro research and basic Python coding skills, particularly with Python libraries like Numpy, Pandas, and Matplotlib. Advanced MS Excel skills, report writing experience, and knowledge of VBA macros/Python are essential. Additionally, familiarity with financial databases like Bloomberg Finance LP, Datastream Eikon, or similar platforms, as well as basic finance knowledge including valuations, financial ratios, and data extraction from company filings, is preferred.,
