A Tool and Die Maker is a skilled tradesperson who designs, builds, and repairs precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. These tools are essential for producing parts and components in industries like automotive, aerospace, consumer goods, and electronics. Skills Required Create tools such as cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges. Use CNC machines, lathes, mills, and grinders. Read and interpret technical blueprints and CAD drawings. Troubleshoot and repair tools and dies that wear out or fail. Adjust existing tools to meet new specifications. Tool Making Die Making Manufacture and assemble dies used for stamping and forming metal parts. Precision is critical; a small error can ruin production. Maintenance and Repair Troubleshoot and repair tools and dies that wear out or fail. Adjust existing tools to meet new specifications. Prototyping Build one-off or limited-production tools for testing new products or parts.
