Texturing / Look Dev Artist

As a Texturing / Look Dev Artist at The Cirqus, you will be responsible for working with the production team to bring to life the desired look of CG models, encompassing complex creatures and hard surface models such as ships, real-world vehicles, and environments. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the final output is of top-notch quality and visually appealing. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create textures, colors, and organic surface qualities required for CG creatures and hard-surface models in production. - Provide feedback on design solutions and actively participate in reviews with the production team. - Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Modelers, and other departments to achieve the desired look and ensure smooth progression of texturing/look dev work through the pipeline. - Maintain high productivity levels while meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional work. - Identify and escalate technical issues to senior artists or leads proactively. - Support in project clean up and archiving on a regular basis. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with significant experience in texturing for VFX / feature films and games. - Demonstrated expertise in creating photorealistic work with great attention to detail. - Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure. - Proficiency in Maya, Mari, XGen/Yeti, Zbrush, Photoshop, or Bodypaint. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Portfolio showcasing professional and personal work, including examples of procedural shading, texturing, and grooming in tools like Maya, Mari, Substance, Katana, XGen, or other relevant software. **Brownie Points:** - Additional modeling skills would be advantageous. - Good organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks effectively.
