Job Summary

The Hospital Telecaller is responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, assisting patients with appointment scheduling, enquiries, follow-ups, and providing accurate information about hospital services while ensuring courteous and professional communication at all times.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Communication

  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls in a polite, professional, and empathetic manner
  • Provide information regarding hospital services, departments, doctors’ availability, OPD timings, and procedures
  • Address patient enquiries, complaints, and feedback appropriately and escalate when required

Appointment & Follow-ups

  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm OPD and diagnostic appointments
  • Conduct follow-up calls for missed appointments, investigations, reports, and treatment continuity
  • Remind patients about upcoming appointments and procedures

Coordination

  • Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, front office, billing, and other departments for smooth patient handling
  • Update relevant departments regarding patient requirements and confirmations

Documentation & Records

  • Maintain accurate call logs, appointment records, and patient details
  • Update hospital systems/ registers with call outcomes and follow-up status
  • Ensure confidentiality and data privacy of patient information

Service Quality

  • Follow hospital communication protocols and service standards
  • Support hospital marketing and patient engagement initiatives when required
  • Meet daily call targets and service quality benchmarks

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum: Any Graduate / Diploma (12th pass with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Office / Hospital Management System preferred)

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal communication skills (Tamil & English preferred; Hindi optional)
  • Patient-centric approach and positive attitude
  • Ability to handle high call volumes and work under pressure
  • Good listening, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional telephone etiquette

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in hospital telecalling, customer service, or call center
  • Freshers with good communication skills may also apply

Work Timings

  • As per hospital shift schedule (including rotational shifts, if applicable)
