The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and maintaining Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) used in the production of steel castings. This role requires a strong understanding of metallurgical processes, furnace operations, and safety procedures within a high-temperature industrial environment. Key Responsibilities:Operate and control Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to melt scrap and raw materials for steel production. Monitor furnace operations and adjust settings for optimal melting efficiency and metal quality. Charge furnace with correct grades and quantities of scrap, alloys, and fluxes. Monitor and control temperature and chemistry of molten metal. Take metal samples for chemical analysis and adjust chemistry as per specification. Maintain accurate records of furnace operations, material usage, temperatures, and melting cycles. Work closely with metallurgists and quality control to ensure product meets required specifications. Perform regular maintenance checks on furnace and related equipment to ensure safe operation. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. Train and mentor junior melting staff or assistants as needed. Requirements:Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Melter in a steel foundry, specifically working with ARC Furnace (EAF). Strong knowledge of steel melting processes, furnace charging techniques, and alloy additions. Ability to read and interpret melt shop instructions, heat sheets, and chemical analysis reports. Familiarity with foundry safety standards and PPE requirements. Physically fit and able to work in high-temperature environments. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime if required.
