Position: Sr. Technical Writer Location: Bangalore Experience: 5 to 7 years Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as software technical writer. Job purpose Software technical writer is responsible for producing high-quality documentation appropriate to its intended audience. This includes working with internal teams on product and document requirements. Duties and responsibilities Experience in Technical documentation process like information gathering , planning , content specification, content development, implementation and evaluation . Hands on experience in creation of user guides, standard operating procedures, release notes, troubleshooting guides . Having knowledge in handling documents in DDLC and SDLC Good knowledge of using language consistency, remove redundancy, and maintain style consistency. Ability to gather information from the SME , developers, coworkers and management. Following style guide ( MSTP ) and adhering to company specific style guides. Ability to break down complicated sentences and make them simpler for average user understanding Learn new Tools/ Technologies as per business requirements. Strong adherence towards process orientation and promote best practices in the team. Promote Knowledge management & documentation in the organization. Document the knowledge base and share with team members Responsibilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiar with MS office applications and has a good understanding of DDLC / SDLC and ITIL concepts. Good understanding on technical writing tools: Confluence , Markdown , SharePoint, Possess strong problem solving, analytical and time management skills. Versatile team member with good communication and collaboration skills. Experience using ticketing portals like ServiceNow/ JIRA Adaptability to changing work environment and technologies. Willing to enhance skills and knowledge as required.
