Description
As a Database Administrator at NTT DATA, you will play a key role in ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of databases and processes. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the design of database structures, ensuring user access and security, and monitoring database performance for efficient query responses. Here is what you will be doing: - Refine the logical design of the database and assist in translating it into a specific data model - Participate in the conceptual design mapping for planned databases - Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary - Create, test, and execute data management languages - Monitor and manage database parameters to ensure speedy query responses - Monitor production databases regularly and respond to any issues promptly - Support the development of database utilities and automated reporting - Set up data sharing and disk partitioning - Enable front-end users to access data concurrently based on their needs - Commission and install new applications in collaboration with Change Control and Release Management - Apply patches and upgrade databases as required - Communicate with technical and operational teams to ensure database integrity and security - Maintain data standards according to business requirements and policies - Install, configure, and maintain database management systems and related software You should possess the following knowledge, skills, and attributes: - Working knowledge of data encryption techniques and database management tools - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail - Strong problem analysis skills and analytical mindset - Ability to simplify complex IT information for different audiences - Understanding of data architecture principles and relational database design - Knowledge of application development lifecycle and data access layers - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Solid understanding of database design principles and data integrity maintenance Academic qualifications and certifications required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a relevant field - Relevant certification such as MCSE DBA, Oracle's associate, or equivalent - ITIL certification Experience required: - Proven experience as a Database Administrator - Experience in database backup and recovery best practices - Experience with Oracle Enterprise and Microsoft SQL Server - Experience managing databases NTT DATA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
