Job Description

As a Principal Engineer - Civil within our Water Design and Engineering team, you will play a key technical leadership role in delivering water and wastewater capital projects. Reporting to the Associate Technical Director/Technical Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical delivery of project-related tasks meets budget, timeframe, and quality targets. Your role will involve working closely with clients regionally and across the UK, promoting Arcadis" services, and contributing to the divisional business plan. Key responsibilities include owning and managing day-to-day technical delivery, overseeing the development of colleagues, managing the production and verification of analysis and design, and providing technical expertise in areas such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, flood protection facilities, and drainage systems. You will be expected to support the regional team, develop design methodologies, engage in the development of engineering technology, and ensure compliance with Arcadis" business management system. To be considered for this role, candidates should have around 10+ years of experience in the UK water sector, a relevant BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng degree, and Chartered Engineer status. Experience with design and construct projects, digital design platforms, and familiarity with British and international standards is also required. Strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to sustainability best practices are essential for success in this role.
