Role Overview

Technical Director Data & AI

As a client-facing leader, the Technical Director will drive technical excellence, enforce best practices, deliver cutting-edge Data & AI solutions, and build a high-performance engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Practice Development (50%)

• Build, mentor, and grow the India Data & AI team (data engineers, ML/AI engineers, architects).
  
• Define and enforce engineering standards and delivery best practices (code reviews, testing, documentation, deployment).
  
• Partner with the US Practice Director on practice growth, capability building, and strategic initiatives.
  
• Support business development through solution design, scoping, and client presentations.
  

Hands-on Delivery (50%)

• Architect and deliver

  end-to-end Data & AI solutions

  across enterprise clients.

• Data Engineering:

  SQL, Python, DBT, Talend, Azure Data Factory, SSIS.

• Data Warehousing:

  Star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling, fact/dim design.

• Cloud Platforms:

  Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP.

• DevOps/CI-CD:

  GitHub, Azure DevOps pipelines for Data/AI.

• AI & Machine Learning:

• Develop and fine-tune

  Large Language Models (LLMs)

  .
• Build, deploy, and monitor ML models.
  
• Implement

  RAG (retrieval augmented generation)

  with enterprise data.
• Work with embeddings and vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Milvus, etc.).
  
• Apply

  prompt engineering, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices

  .
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure delivery excellence.
  
• Troubleshoot and lead resolution of complex data/production issues.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Technical

• Strong expertise in

  Data Engineering

  : SQL, Python, ETL/ELT (DBT, Talend, ADF, SSIS).
• Proven experience in

  Data Warehouse design

  (star schema, dimensional modeling, fact/dim tables).
• Deep expertise with

  Cloud Data Platforms

  (Snowflake, Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Solid background in

  Machine Learning & AI frameworks

  (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Hands-on with

  Generative AI/LLMs

  : fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, vector DBs, prompt engineering.
• Strong

  Cloud Architecture

  experience (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with

  metadata & governance tools

  (Alation, Purview, Collibra).

Leadership & Delivery

• 12+ years of experience in

  Data & AI

  , with at least 5+ years in

  technical leadership

  .
• Proven track record of leading distributed teams and delivering

  large-scale enterprise projects

  .
• Strong client-facing experience: solution design, technical workshops, and presentations.
  
• Expertise in defining and enforcing

  delivery standards, documentation, and testing frameworks

  .

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in

  Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering

  , or related field.

• Certifications in Azure Data/AI

  (preferred) or equivalent AWS/GCP certifications are a plus.
