Technical Assistant

The Technical Assistant role at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering involves providing support for academic and research activities, assisting in the setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment, offering technical support for IT and network infrastructure, and helping faculty and students in utilizing various technologies and tools in an academic environment. Responsibilities include assisting in the installation, configuration, and upkeep of laboratory and IT equipment, providing technical support to ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems for students and faculty, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of systems and laboratory equipment, aiding in inventory management, documenting technical procedures and support requests, and maintaining accurate records. Qualified candidates should possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, along with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a technical support role. Technical skills required include proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting computers, networking equipment, and/or laboratory equipment, knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic networking concepts, familiarity with lab safety procedures and technical documentation, and hands-on experience with software/hardware. Soft skills like strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to technical challenges, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Additional requirements include certifications in relevant technical areas (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, etc.) being a plus, and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
