Job Description

The Technical Writer position is based in Gurugram, Sector-34 and is a contractual role for a duration of 3 months. As a Technical Writer with our gStore product team, you will play a crucial role in developing clear, concise, and user-focused documentation to support both internal teams and external customers. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Presales, and Implementation teams, you will be responsible for converting complex feature releases into functional, technical, and customer-specific documentation. Your key responsibilities will include authoring and managing documentation for gStore, such as feature-based documentation, functional workflows, technical implementation guides, and customer-specific documentation sets. You will need to track and version documentation based on product release cycles to ensure alignment with current product capabilities. Working in tandem with Product and Engineering teams, you will capture new feature releases, updates, and enhancements and translate them into clear and structured documents. To cater to varying stakeholder needs, you will break down technical and functional information into modular, layered documentation. Maintaining version control and highlighting changes across releases will facilitate easier navigation and adoption. Additionally, you will create document sets tailored to specific customers, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with their unique implementations. Defining and enhancing standards for document structure, tone, formatting, and terminology across the documentation ecosystem will be crucial to your role. You will also contribute to internal knowledge bases, API documentation, FAQs, and onboarding manuals. The ideal candidate for this role should have at least 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in SaaS, enterprise software, or retail technology. You should possess a strong ability to understand and simplify complex technical concepts with a user-centric writing approach. Experience in managing version-controlled documentation, familiarity with Agile product development cycles, and proficiency in documentation tools like Confluence, Notion, GitBook, and Google Docs are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, are also required. Preferred skills for this role include an understanding of RFID technology, inventory management workflows, or retail operations. Exposure to API documentation and working knowledge of tools like Notion, Linear, and Postman, as well as experience in building user guides, training manuals, or client-facing help centers, will be advantageous. Success in this role will be defined by your establishment of a centralized, well-structured documentation framework that scales with the product. Your documentation will help reduce support queries and accelerate feature adoption for product teams, while customers will benefit from tailored and easily digestible documentation that enhances their onboarding and usage experience.,
