Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer at Quest-Client, your role involves performing analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and conducting diagnostics to isolate issues at the component level. You will be responsible for keeping up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and products through continuous learning, training, and certification. Providing quality on-site repair, maintenance service, and completing installation/relocation start-up services of complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites will be part of your duties. Additionally, you will assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintain records, and reports to coordinate activities between Quest-Client and the End-Customer. Serving as a subject matter expert, representing Quest-Client to valued End-Customers, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction, traveling for training and alternate customer sites based on business needs, troubleshooting, creating customer response action plans, transparently discussing opportunities and challenges with customers, and providing technical instruction and mentoring for junior engineers are also key aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities: - Keeping up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and products through continuous learning, training, and certification. - Providing quality on-site repair, maintenance service, and completing installation/relocation start-up services of complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites. - Assisting in complex field modifications and updates, while maintaining records and reports to coordinate activities between Quest-Client and the End-Customer. - Serving as a subject matter expert, representing Quest-Client to valued End-Customers, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. - Traveling for training and alternate customer sites based on business needs, both domestically and internationally. - Troubleshooting and creating customer response action plans to support customer needs. - Transparently discussing opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust. - Providing technical instruction and mentoring for junior engineers. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechatronics, Chemical, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (7+ years of experience for Bachelors degree; or 5+ years of experience with Masters degree) - Experience in the semiconductor industry or another capital equipment support industry is a must. - Previous experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment. - Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in any of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics. - Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals. - Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing personal protective safety equipment. - Capability to perform physical tasks such as walking extensively, standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, and lifting up to 35 pounds. - Ability to distinguish between colors and work in noisy environments. - Willingness to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, and flexibility to work varied shifts including overtime and on-call if needed.
