Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedTechnical Lead Network and Systems Administratorto join our team immediately. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and migrating Active Directory and Domain environments, as well as leading VMware infrastructure projects, to ensure robust and efficient IT operations. This role includes team leadership responsibilities, performance evaluation, shift management, and overseeing a complex IT infrastructure based on Microsoft Windows Server Technologies and VMware.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Active Directory and Domain Migrations: Take ownership of all Active Directory and Domain Migration projects, ensuring seamless integration, minimal downtime, and adherence to best practices.
- Manage and Oversee VMware Infrastructure: Lead the administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of VMware environments to support virtualized workloads efficiently.
- Remotely manage Windows and VMware systems.
- Perform Level 2 and Level 3 systems administration.
- Lead a team of Network and Systems Administrators, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Evaluate team performance regularly, offering constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
- Manage and schedule shifts, ensuring 24/7 coverage for uninterrupted IT support.
- Recover incidents, implement changes, and participate in strategic projects.
- Create and publish regular reports for projects handled by the team.
- Coordinate with hardware and software vendors for related issues.
- Communicate status updates on incident resolution, change execution, and projects as appropriate.
- Support a wide and varied client base.
- Communicate and negotiate with users, specialists, other staff, and suppliers.
- Install and configure Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022, IIS, DHCP, and DNS Servers.
- Expertise in Active Directory management, migrations, and domain restructuring to support organizational growth and technology transitions.
- Extensive Virtualization Experience with VMware and Hyper-V for provisioning, managing, and securing virtualized environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot VMware Horizon for remote clients.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365, including migrations from other email hosting providers.
- Configure and troubleshoot Sophos and Symantec Endpoint Protection.
- Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Knowledge of Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools like ConnectWise Automate.
- Maintain backups with Veeam, MSP360, Datto, and Veritas.
- Configure and troubleshoot Unifi Access Points, SonicWALL, Sophos, Proofpoint, and VoIP phone systems.
- Maintain pre-packaged software applications on the LAN.
- Troubleshoot PCs and laptops, as well as network troubleshooting, installation, and troubleshooting of network printers and scanners.
- Administer IT department policies and procedures.
- Maintain a log of all detected problems and team performance metrics.
- Troubleshoot wired or wireless network issues remotely.
- Experience with RingCentral and Office@Hand VOIP phone systems.
- Experience supporting customers based in the US and UK is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
Additional Leadership Responsibilities
- Evaluate and enhance team workflows and operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Conduct performance reviews and set individual development goals for team members.
- Lead incident response and problem management, taking ownership of major incidents and guiding the team to resolution.
