Job Description

Team Member / Waiter / Steward ( 12th pass, Hotel Management, Graduate ) – Job Roles & Responsibilities

1. Customer Service

  • Welcome guests warmly and guide them to their seats
  • Provide menus and explain food, beverages, and promotions
  • Ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience at all times

2. Order Management

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders
  • Understand menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
  • Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen or bar staff

3. Food & Beverage Service

  • Serve food and drinks promptly and correctly
  • Follow proper serving etiquette and standards
  • Check customer satisfaction during meals

4. Table Setup & Maintenance

  • Set up tables with clean linens, cutlery, and glassware
  • Clear used plates and reset tables quickly
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas

5. Hygiene & Safety

  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain personal cleanliness and proper uniform
  • Handle food and beverages safely

6. Billing & Payments

  • Present bills accurately
  • Process payments (cash, card, or digital)
  • Ensure correct change and receipts are provided

7. Teamwork & Support

  • Assist fellow team members during peak hours
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service staff
  • Follow instructions from supervisors or managers

8. Complaint Handling

  • Handle guest complaints politely and professionally
  • Resolve basic issues or escalate to management when necessary

9. Stock & Equipment Handling

  • Refill service stations and supplies
  • Handle crockery, cutlery, and equipment carefully
  • Report shortages or damages

10. Compliance & Discipline

  • Follow company policies and service standards
  • Adhere to work schedules and attendance rules
  • Participate in training and skill development
