Job Description

Role: SQL Server Database Administrator (On-Premises Server)

We are looking for a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our on-premises SQL Server environment, which serves as the backbone for our Power BI reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will be a SQL expert responsible for database maintenance, performance tuning, automation, and ensuring seamless data flow for our BI team. Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps is a strong plus.

Who are we looking for

.SQL Server DBA (on-premises)-deep expertise in T-SQL, query tuning, and performance optimization.

.Hands-on experience with:

oSQL Server installation, configuration, and maintenance.

oBackup/restore strategies, log shipping, and disaster recovery.

oAutomating data loads (SSIS, PowerShell, or T-SQL scripting).

.Strong problem-solving skills fortroubleshooting database issues.

Responsibilities:

.SQL Server Management & Maintenance

oAdminister, monitor, and optimizeon-premises Microsoft SQL Server

oPerforminstallations, upgrades, patches, and security hardening.

oTroubleshoot and resolvedatabase performance issues(blocking, deadlocks, slow queries).

oManagedatabase backups, restores, and disaster recovery plans.

.Automation & Data Integration

oAutomate daily data loadsinto SQL Server (viaT-SQL, PowerShell, or SSIS).

oSchedule and maintainSQL Agent Jobsfor ETL processes.

oOptimizestored procedures, functions, and triggersfor efficient Power BI data retrieval.

o(Bonus) Experience withPower Automatefor workflow automation.

3. Power BI Support & Optimization

.Work closely with thePower BI teamto ensureoptimal database performancefor reports/dashboards.

.Assist indata modeling, partitioning, and indexingfor better Power BI performance.

.(Bonus) Knowledge ofPower BI DirectQuery vs. Import modesand optimization strategies.

4. Security & Compliance

.Manageuser permissions, roles, and securityfor SQL databases.

.Ensure compliance withdata governance policies(access control, auditing).

5. Server & Infrastructure Oversight

.Monitorserver health, storage, and capacity planning.

.Coordinate with IT teams forhardware/OS-level optimizations.
