Teaching Assistant

1.) Responsible to be a friend, teacher and role model to young minds in their formative

years.

Aware that young minds learn thru observation, and consciously conducts self to bear a

positive influence on children.

Stays positive and always carries a smile.

Is firm but respectful and uses polite language and etiquette.

Prepares well for the lesson plans for every period.

Is on time in the class and completes all student related tasks on time.

Is not afraid to accept a mistake and correct self.

2.) Responsible for activities of the section.

Is consulted during the drafting of the timetable for the class section for correctness.

Execution manager of class timetable. Ensures that the language and activity teachers

assigned to the section also work to this plan document.

3.) Responsible and accountable to record attendance of the class.

Records attendance of the class in the manual register and the On-line system before start

of the first period each working day.

Informed absence is marked as leave and uninformed absence as absent.

Checks with parent if any child in class is absent beyond a day.

4.) Responsible to conduct the lesson plans around English literacy, numeracy and UOI

(with stories and rhymes) for the assigned section as per the plan schedule.

Create / locate additional teaching resources:

o Create teaching material and activities by self, to enhance learning experience of children.

o Browse Internet for any suitable teaching material (Audio-Video material, pictures.) that

can engage the students more intensely.

o Upload the additional material under the weekly planner for approval by coordinator before

putting to use.

Conduct the subject lesson plans in an atmosphere of fun and discovery, and, as per

schedule.

o Conducts the lesson plan in the classroom with the lesson plan objectives in sight.

o Scales to the level of the children’s previous knowledge and understanding, while

explaining the lesson.

o Explain the concepts involved in the lesson with examples from children’s prior experience

where possible.

o Uses the resource kit and activities to facilitate the children to experience and learn and

makes the whole process enjoyable. (Interactive circle time, role plays to enact characters

and things around, outdoor activity, indoor activity)

o Encourages children to raise questions and then helps them find answers, rather than

teacher explaining everything. Cultivates in the children, a habit to learn by inquiry.
